Sweet Thangs. Two words that started everything. Two words that we still cringe at the thought of each and every passing day, but two words that make us laugh, words that we are thankful for. Sweet Thangs was the name of our blog when we first started it in January of 2016. By mid January we decided it didn't fit us. It felt somewhat silly, not right, not true to who we are. "But why 'The Misfits?". I get that asked a lot, and this is how I go about explaining it: There are many definitions to what a misfit is, some say its a bad thing, some say it simply is a type of person. We believe that a misfit is someone who strives on individuality, someone who doesn't necessarily care what anyone else thinks - and that isn't a bad thing. We want to make a change, we want everyone to know what we're about, we aren't the most popular people at school, we aren't necessarily friends with everyone, but we are strong and proud and we love what we do. We are Misfits.
(It also sounds better than 'Sweet Thangs' lets be honest)
This year has been a huge turning point, both with our personal lives and our lives as a team. We've gone through a lot of crap, as well as a lot of amazing experiences, yet we never let our personal lives interfere with us working on making this blog something more that what it may seem to be at the moment. We've had so many ideas, and we still have more and we're freaking, bloody excited. Twenty-Sixteen was the beginning of so many opportunities and so many memories, and the making of our blog was the biggest highlight yet. Without our band of misfits, without you, none of this would have been possible, none of this would have been worth it. I fear missing out on a month, leaving you without a post to read and love, and so each and every month we aimed at publishing at least three posts, and we succeeded. Your feedback has meant the world and we wish you could give us more. It doesn't even have to be feedback, just talk to us, tell us what you've been up to or how you've been, lets become friends and help this blog become something even more special. Thats why we started the Misfit Universe, and thats why we want everyone to join, because this blog is more than just a website, it's a platform where Sabrina and I can share our ideas, put what we love out there, make our audience feel warmth and wonder when reading our posts - its a place to come to whenever for whatever reason and we want to be able to share that sense of friendship with you.
We've come so far thanks to you, and so we wanted to gift you.
