Photo Diary #002 | summer nights, shimmering lights

Hello lovelies! I haven't been doing too well lately. School and stress have been getting in the way of my creativity and imagination, which happens sometimes, but it's gonna be okay. So while I've been in bed and feeling a lil' less motivated to get up and live life to its fullest, I've been spending my time thinking about back when school was off, flowy skirts were put on and when all I had to worry about was if I was gonna end up getting fish and chips or ice cream from the cute shops by the beach. One of the perks of being an Arab is growing up with a pretty loud, crazy, super fun family. Over the holidays, as we'd drive to our cabins or rented town houses, I spent a lot of time in the car staring out the window, as my family blasted arabic music, drummed away to the beat, ate lots of naughty snacks and embarrassed the crap out of me as cars passed by... Two or three McDonald's drive-throughs later, we would arrive at my favourite place in the world.

Whether it was Mornington Peninsula, Queenscliff or Great Ocean Road, the beach would still be my destination for relaxation, haa! The best thing about these places is the fact that they're not crowded like your usual beaches that would probably be 10-15 mins away from you. These far-flung beaches were calm and relaxing, they made me feel free. I'd spend hours just sitting alone on the soft sand watching the birds fly by, staring up at the clouds and admiring the breathtaking sunset as its colours glistened over the shimmering water. By the end of the day I'd crawl into the bunkbed, have the windows open and fallasleep to the sweet sound of the gentle waves crashing and I'd dream about being there forever...
